Cucumber Mint Cooler Recipe

Cucumber Mint Cooler

Cucumber Mint Cooler

Cucumber Mint Cooler is a refreshing blend of cucumber, sugar (or other sweetener of choice), lime juice, ice, water, and mint leaves

Cucumber, mint and lime are great to quench ourselves especially in summer.  Cucumber has a high-water content and help relieve dehydration and full of antioxidants. Mint is cooling, refreshing, zingy and delightful and adds flavour and boost the medicinal properties of the drink. Mint has immensely powerful antioxidant properties and is excellent to manage blood sugar levels and treat skin conditions. Sugar is added to the cooler to make it sweet and lemon juice and black salt add a little twist of tangy and salty taste to it.

So, I guess technically this Cucumber Mint Cooler is a summer drink. However, I feel it is a ‘all year round’ drink. It is thirst-quenching, minty, and sweet and sour and packed with abundance of healthy nutrition. A simple light and refreshing drink!

Ingredients

1 cup chopped cucumber
6-7 mint leaves
Juice of 1 lime
1 teaspoon black salt
1 teaspoon sugar
4-5 ice cubes
¼ cup water

Directions

Step-1

Blend the cucumber and mint leaves to a smooth fine puree.

In a bowl, strain the puree by adding water. Discard the pulp.

Step-2

Add black salt, sugar and lime juice and mix to dissolve the sugar.

Step-3

Add ice cubes in a glass and pour the mint and cucumber cooler and serve cold!

Tips & Variations

  1. Do not peel the skin of the cucumber. Just chop it into small pieces to grind.
  2. You can add a little ginger while grinding the cucumber and mint and it gives a nice taste to the cooler.
  3. If you can find fresh basil in the market, it tastes amazing in this drink and you can use it as a substitute for mint.
  4. You can skip the sugar if you want. You can even add honey, maple syrup, or agave nectar instead of sugar for a healthy alternative.
  5. You can add a dash of vodka or rum to make an alcoholic drink.
  6. You can also replace water with coconut water for another healthier version.
